Report on Special Lecture for Professional Guidance held on 5th December, 2021
St.Thomas’ College of Law organized a Special lecture on the theme “Metamorphosis of Legal Education & Bright Future Prospects of Legal Practice” on Sunday, 5th December, 2021 at Seminar Hall, STCL. The Lecture was conducted with the objective of instilling confidence amongst the students and to apprise them of traditional as well as emerging areas to build their career after graduating from St. Thomas’ College of Law.
Senior Counsel and President of Lawyers’ Forum for Civil Liberties, Advocate Mr. O.P.Saxena and Mr. Zia Ansari , Founder Director of Zia Judicials, were invited as the Guest Speakers to enlighten and guide our students.
The program was compeered by Mr. Adnan Irshad, Asst. Professor St. Thomas’ college of Law. Ms. Simmi Pal, Mr. Dhananjay Kumar Mishra, Mr. Faheem Khan, and Dr. Niti Sinha were other learned faculty members present in the function. The program began with Prof. (Dr.) K.S. Bhati’s welcome address and felicitation of the Guests by presenting them Mementos, acknowledging their august presence. Mr. O.P.Saxena, a very senior and seasoned Advocate of the Supreme Court of India, whose career spans more than four decades, shared his rich experience and informed the students of practical challenges faced by a litigation lawyer. He also shared the method how one can develop the skill to succeed as a new enterprising lawyer. He vociferously advocated and explained the importance of ethics and morality amongst the budding lawyers.
Mr. Zia Ansari in his address shared his experience as an academic. He meticulously explained the various avenues available to law professionals to serve the society and to carve an illustrious career as a Member on the Bench. Mr. Zia, a young entrepreneur and specialist educator for judicial service examinations, elaborated how to prepare and achieve success in Judicial Service Examination. In the open discussion, Dr. Rajesh Dev, an invitee interacted with the students and shared his rich experience as a law teacher.
Proposing the Vote of Thanks, Dr. M.K.Tyagi acknowledged our gratitude to the distinguished Speakers and all the attendees in his own unique style, with which the program reached to the Conclusion.
